Mission Overview

A daylight strike mission to weaken ISIL's income by destroying oil production infrastructure south-east of Raqqa. All four objectives were destroyed.

  • ISIL (HOSTILE): No IADS. AAA and MANPADS at all targets. No A2A capability.
  • SAA IADS (NEUTRAL): FCR PASSIVE. Search/EW radars ACTIVE — expect RWR indications. Do NOT fly into SAA No-Fly Zones.

Civil / Neutral Traffic

Airspace closed. Heavy SAA traffic within the AOR expected crossing. Maintain visual separation — traffic is uncoordinated.

Friction Point — Deir ez-Zor

SAA 104th Republican Guard Brigade enclave is besieged by ISIL. SyAAF conducting active sorties from western airbases in the area. High risk of uncoordinated neutral contact.

Abort Criteria

  • SAA FCR emission — report MUD to MAGIC, manoeuvre defensively, prepare to abort

  • SyAAF hostile intent — MISSION ABORT. Report BANDIT to MAGIC, egress
  • GPS/INS failure — aircraft aborts strike. Strike authority may pass to element lead; if not feasible, full flight abort
  • Multiple RWR failures — Mission Abort at Flight Lead discretion
  • Hung ordnance — cease attack, report, egress, remain separate on recovery
  • Loss of C2 deconfliction — all flights cease task, hold at designated holding point, attempt to re-establish; egress if not restored
