78th VMRS/Flowchart/Enter the Cockpit

From SOURCE DCS WIKI

The cockpit phase is where you prepare the aircraft for the upcoming flight. Before taxiing, the aircraft must be properly configured, essential systems checked, and the necessary pre-flight procedures completed. This ensures that the aircraft is ready for safe operation and that you can proceed to the next stage of the flight.

The following steps are performed in this exact order

Backup UHF Check (Flight Check)

1: <callsign> CHECK
2: 2
3: 3
4: 4
Where instrument flight rules (IFR) are planned, the FL will request the IFR clearance. Each wingman acknowledges in position order
once the FL has read the clearance back. Where IFR are not planned, no request is made and the flight proceeds.

IFR Clearance Request

1: <callsign> REQUEST IFR
2: 2
3: 3
4: 4

Ground Frequency Change

1: <callsign> GO <channel>
2: 2
3: 3
4: 4
The FL will call for engine start. Each wingman acknowledges in position order and starts engines.

Engine Start Directive

1: <callsign> CRANK
2: 2
3: 3
4: 4

You now perform your Startup and setup your aircraft to be ready to taxi

CHECK-IN

At the briefed check-in time, the FL will call the flight in on VHF. The condition is time-based. The check-in time is BRIEFED EVERY MISSION.
Each flight member ready for taxi acknowledges in position order.

Flight Check-In

1: <callsign> CHECK
2: 2
3: 3
4: 4
Where a flight member is not ready, that flight member will respond with the time required in place of the position number. The remaining flight members acknowledge in position order.

Flight Check-In, Flight Member Not Ready

1: <callsign> CHECK
2: <flight> 2 NEEDS <n> MINUTES
3: 3
4: 4
Where a flight member will not be ready at the briefed check-in time, that flight member will inform the FL as soon as the delay is known and not later than the briefed check-in time.
