PID
PID required prior to weapons release on all air or surface contacts unless hostile act is demonstrated. Sources: NCTR/radar profile, correlated CRC/AWACS track, visual ID. Unidentified aircraft departing known mixed-use or adversary-controlled bases are NOT automatically hostile.
BVR
BVR weapons authorised only after PID or declaration by controlling agency. Weapons free against aircraft declared HOSTILE or demonstrating hostile act. Third-party deconfliction aircraft require higher authority clearance unless self-defence.
Surface Attack
Weapons release authorised on assigned ATO targets only. Dynamic targeting requires CAOC approval unless self-defence. CDE 1–3 delegated; higher requires CAOC approval.
Abort Criteria
- Target PID cannot be confirmed
- Collateral damage risk exceeds authorisation
- Fuel state prevents safe recovery
- Supporting mission unsuccessful and threat unacceptable
- Major technical faults
